History
In mid 2007, Gilde Equity Management Benelux formed De Banketgroep by buying out Bakkersland Banket B.V. and Van der Breggen B.V in quick succession.
Bakkersland Banket had bakeries in Bunschoten, Ouderkerk a/d IJssel, Oud Gastel, Gorredijk, Moordrecht and Nuth. The Van der Breggen bakery was based in Tilburg.
The current Van der Breggen B.V. businesses – Wafel Janssen B.V. and Neerlandia Banket were created through merging or dividing companies.

Because the bakery in Moordrecht concentrated almost exclusively on the production of caramel waffles, Van der Breggen became responsible for this bakery. The bakery in Nuth was made independent under the name Wafel Janssen. This is the name that it had also held until 2001, when it was bought by Bakkersland Banket.
The bakery in Gorredijk was closed in 2007, after which the remaining bakeries (Bunschoten, Ouderkerk a/d Ijssel and Oud Gastel) continued to operate under the name Neerlandia Banket.
